Kraka Coal is a coconut and hardwood charcoal factory that sources shell across Indonesia and cooks it into charcoal in Java. We check every batch for density, moisture and fixed carbon before it ships to importers worldwide.
Before producing a single briquette under our own name, we learned the craft, and its failure points, from the inside.
Our founders spent years inside coconut charcoal operations across Indonesia, studying carbonization methods, ash content, moisture control, and the inconsistencies that frustrate international buyers. That groundwork shaped everything that came after.
The same gaps, over and over. The reasons overseas buyers lose confidence in a supplier.
Once we understood exactly where most producers fall short, we built KrakaCoal to close those gaps directly, with our own production standards and our own relationships with international distributors and retailers. No middlemen between you and quality control.
Between the islands of Java and Sumatra sits Krakatoa, the volcano whose 1883 eruption was heard across a third of the globe and remains one of the most powerful in recorded history. It is a symbol deep in Indonesian identity: raw force, relentless heat, and a legacy that still commands respect today.
We swapped the “t” for a “c” and added an “l”. The name fuses the volcano’s elemental power with the material we produce, and carries the same qualities our product is built to deliver.
Just as Krakatoa is the most formidable volcano in Indonesia, KrakaCoal aims to be the benchmark international buyers measure others against.

Mature, high-density coconut shell sets the burn time and ash of the finished charcoal. We source and audit it across three island regions, then cook it into charcoal in Java.
Dense, oil-rich shell from established coconut estates, the backbone of our high fixed-carbon cube grade.
Our carbonization and QC hub, where the shell is cooked into charcoal, close to Java's main ports for fast, documented export.
Vetted smallholder cooperatives supplying consistent raw shell under our traceability and audit standards.
Every batch is traced from shell to shipment, so the certificate of analysis matches the charcoal in your container, not a generic spec.
Fixed carbon, ash, moisture and calorific value are verified by third-party labs such as SGS and Carsurin before we ship.
Packed and documented for each destination, including Gulf SABER/ESMA, EU EUDR, MSDS and HALAL, so shipments clear the first time.
The short version of how one carbonization operation became a vetted export network.
We start trading coconut shell charcoal, sourcing it from established factories across Indonesia and learning the craft from the inside.
Direct shipments to the Gulf begin, with independent lab testing as a standard step.
Shell sourcing expands across Sumatra and Sulawesi under one traceability and QC framework.
We formalize into PT. Kraka Coal Indonesia, with our own due-diligence and quality-control steps standardized for every shipment. By now we serve 10+ markets at 300+ MT per month across the Gulf, Europe, North America and beyond.
